I think the point of the vitsoe shelves, is that people think "omg, you have vitsoe shelves; you must be loaded".
You're not going to be able to get the same effect with anything else.

I have some of the elpha in my closet. Good quality, nice design, and a little cheaper than the Dieter Rams vitsoe shelves.

get some rubbermaid rails and supports at home depot for like $10 and then whatever type of nice wood or laminate you want to use for shelves. so much cheaper that the elfa stuff.

Anyone has had any experiences with the IKEA Antonius shelves?
Thinking about just buying the rails and hooks (as akrokdesign1 suggested) and making my own custom shelves..- don't know much about the ikea shelving but spur is very strong http://www.spurshelv…hans_glib
