The problem is likely between your computer monitor and your chair back.

http://www.postimage.org/image.p…The cross is "indent to here". Do you use it on other pages? Same/no problem?
- Yes mate used on 150+ pages. All have indent.jysta
- all have same problem?neverblink
- Or rather pushing the character over.jysta
- yes all the †'s have same problemjysta

you should really be breaking that first line and having the lines under in a different paragraph style with indentation set instead of using the indent to here with a soft return. but this should not affect the pdf in the way it seems to be.
- yeah, I use it a lot, weird the PDF setting I have to use doesn't like it.jysta

Will try another PDF distiller setting, pretty sure all fonts are embedded tho. Can't think what else it could be.

does this happen when you view the pdf at 100%? sometimes the magnifying engine cant make type look wonky.

^ There are PDF glitches if you zoom in to close.
- <^ Same issue at any zoom + it prints with indentation on the ink jet.jysta

I'm pretty sure it's an Acrobat/PDF rendering issue. I believe it's due to vector/eps objects and the amount of shape hinting that's used to render the object in a PDF format. If you need the object to render accurately in a PDF format I would suggest outlining the type/object and then exporting to PDF, although this is not always a surefire fix. Sometimes you actually have to go into illustrator and add additional points to the paths. This is pretty common with I's and l', where they dissappear completely or appear thicker than normal.

Don't use that stupid cross symbol. Just modify the tab for that line.
- Also, are you really fucking using Distiller? WHY@?!??monospaced
- Not usually, just to see if it would fix it...jysta
- johndiggity0
could also be the character/paragraph styles you have applied to those tabs.

Dude don't use whatever that cross shit is!
Instead Use Apple+| where you want proceeding lines to ident to.

- haha. i take it you've never worked with hidden characters on.fryday

HAYZ1LLA - Apple + | is exactly that symbol when you have invisible characters switched on.
I agree with johndiggity, for this layout a second paragraph style would make more sense. Indent here is more suited to bullets and/or continuing paragraphs.
jysta - why not save PDF from InDesign? Why are you distilling?
- Didn't I say the same thing and ask the same question? Thanks for reiterating it. :)monospaced
