square pie's gone MASSIVELY downhill - used to be ace, now they serve you a ridiculously small pie with a shitty portion of mushy peas

dalston end, hackney road.
Just your average pie, like chicken or steak, that kind of thing.
spitalfields is a bit of a trek, breakfast club sounds promising, love that place but didn't know they did pie.

Bang has been dead since Novemberish
Albion is meant to do nice pies but knowing them they will be a bit too pricey and one ingredient will overpower the rest, usually the butter so you may feel sick after.- shame, i've heard a lot about albion being great :(cactushands
- some people like Albion, I just think its flawed.********
- Bread crust cuts your mouth up, bread just tastes too buttery, way too much mayo********
- the past year has only done 6 types of sandwich********
- a cockroach ran across the counter one night when i was ordering food in there.Leigh
- also why do they only sell sandwiches in twos, sell me 1 at half the price, cunts********
- was a bit underwhelmed when i went tbh but it was decent... heard theyve gone a bit downhill too... for the priceisakosmo

Always been impressed by the American stodge at The Diner on Curtain Road.
- it's probably the closest i can get to american grub here (i'm an expat). however i'm still looking for a half way decent kosher dill pickle.cactushands
- kosher dill pickle.cactushands
- You better start looking away from those "gherkins" and head over to Germany, pal.********

Go to Premises cafe on Hackney Road. Good food, cool place (part of a recording studio). Great to go on a Sunday after wandering Colombia Road Flower Market.
Used to go there a lot and in my time have had the misfortune of sitting next to Pete Dougherty and Amy Wine-o.
- oooh forgot about that... used to live in the estate around the corner... saw dj shadow there. they have a LUSH brunch! recommend it.isakosmo
