What I acutally wanted to list were the brands in the field of industrial design, which are not focused on one specific product, but do pretty much everything what they can imagine (or license, for that matter). Thus Porsche Design, which has very little to do with Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, an automotive company.IDEO (as well as Frog Design) are not known to the end-consumer, so this will not qualify. Persons do not qualify either, unless the products bear their names and are sold as such.
Fashion brands licensing their names to whoever pays, do not qualify either, as they basically do not see the product until the approval phase, if at all.- Isn't Porsche known to the public only as a car company?Amicus

On a serious note, though. Think about it – it seems like there are not many (widely known) brands out there, that actually do what every designer dreams of doing: practice industrial design, apply the skills and vision on anything from a table to a watch and succeed in selling it worldwide.
There are smaller design practices, which live off this (though they often sell their designs to some specialized brands), but very few corporate brands. Why?...

Those are persons, as far as I know. I am talking about brands.
Philippe Starck could possibly get on this list, as there are products which actually use his name as a brand (diverse +Starck collections or editions).
