Lots of hate in this thread.
Not surprising. For a bunch of wankers always crying about concept this and process that, it's really interesting to watch so many people lose their tears over an experimental dump/vault of process and concept work.
L-O-L.

Michael Cina updates with some amazing new work = true

A few lovely bits, some ok bits and a lot of crappy bits I guess.

Maybe everyone would rather see a ton of shitty sketches? I mean, that seems to be trendy right now...

"if a designer chooses to share their processes and experiments"
The only process going on here is the process of watching Cina taking a massive shit... in close up, HD , slow motion

Wow, thanks for posting his work site, bzsaw. The stuff there qualifies as amazing, in my opinion. Love it.
This thread kind of underscores the vital issue of design's relationship with art, I think. I feel that so much decent design is informed by a well-rounded knowledge/understanding of art. In design, though, the sheer aesthetics must be secondary to the need to communicate (unless, of course, they are the primary means of communication).

is this some sort of inside joke?

I wonder if a great designer stands a good chance of ever becoming a great artist?

I think Mr. Cina is a great artist, although not all of his stuff resonates with me personally. I will say, though, that I've seen a decent number of QBN members who truly excel in both categories (art and design).

Whether i like the work or not, this guys doing his own thing and not following the crowd with current trends ect and for that i give him the big thumbs ups. If we don't try new ways of working then nothing will ever go forward.

Amazing?

Explore processes, create systems. I don't see enough designers taking the time to explore different ways of making.
