Let's not get carried away. Windows 7 works like Vista should have done years ago.
It's sad when Microsoft doing something right is the exception.

Just download BootCamp and install OSX... oh, wait...

I'm also loving Windows 7, I've had Office 2007 crash a couple of times under 64-bit, but otherwise it has been beautiful. My only advice is to cram as much RAM in the bastard as humanly possible.
PS. The recovery disks that you get with Windows 7 are pretty easy to use too, chuck 'em in, reboot, and follow the prompts.

I occasionally get some message that says something to the effect of
"explorer has stopped working... restarting"
has been like that since I purchased my new desktop.

I believe it was something like canuck mentioned.
Thanks for the suggestions .Always used a Mac - so have to read those "how to" articles, I guess.

If its within 5mins it might be issues with drivers me thinks. Did you start doing something gfx heavy then it just went kerplunk? Check for updates for your graphics card driver etc etc and make sure your all up to date.

Loving Windows 7 actually. Only thing I hate is all the god damn help center type pop-ups, which I haven't yet researched how to disable.
Everything else is really lean and user friendly. I am highly surprised—this is my first PC in almost 10 years.
