airey is correct in that that was the conclusion of the previous thread, but the results won't be perfect. The fact of the matter is that there is no "median stroke" or "centerline" built into type, so there is no quick solution.

and in english:
Object > Path > Offset Path (make it a negative value).
Then Pathfinder shenanigans, maybe Object > Path > Outline Stroke to start with, then pathfinder shenanigans.

i'm sure this has been asked before bt i didnt kow what to search for :P
i need to turn a typeface into a hairline stroke.
so i need to take a font .. (see below) and somehow obtain the median shape. (a line that goes through the center of the letterform (illustrated in red)
anyone know how to do this?
