Do you think how we access web info will change much in the near future? Despite all the advances we've seen, it seems like everything is not all that different from 10 years ago, based around the browser model.
For a lot of sites I use often (like YouTube, etc) I find myself wishing the experience was more like an application instead of going to a page and logging in etc.

its not difficult to imagine it going in the direction of apps. Hulu has one...

Well forget login, I just mean more geared towards the repeat user. Webpages are typically designed for new users with a homepage etc.
The process of opening an app on your own machine is much easier and more fluid.

apps are for creating + communicating + sharing... so is the web... what app do u want online?

hopefully. if web servers serve only data, and not data + style/form, then it doesn't really matter what's on the client side (app, browser, etc.) to take care of the rendering.
tim berners-lee knows whats up. take it away tim:

It might take up more space on your computer as an application though. And not everyone updates their apps. It just seems like the screen would be more cluttered. You can have tabs in a browser and open different things up, or you could have many different windows. Even F9 or Spaces (on a Mac) wouldn't help much.

Sorry Jaline you can't fight progress.
