My first impression is that your studio must be in a really bad part of town.

I would make the pieces larger and use less space for the street background.

not a fan of unrequested sound. the play/pause button is confusing, it appears when you roll over the whole image area and you get the finger cursor, but you can't click anything unless you're directly over the button. i expected clicking to show me a larger version or something.

street background looks somewhat flat.
check out how this site developed a similar idea:

keep on it, good luck!

I don't get the background, or understand the need for it. It's way too distracting, it overpowers the work. Is it a night or day scene? it looks like day, but the lights are on.
And now as I'm writing this, I've just noticed the left and right arrows. So those are hard to see. they look like they're part of the graffiti.

i would get rid of the bg. there is already a sense of busyness with your work (lots of web stuff). and that combined with the background is too much. it needs a clean background, and it will allow you to showcase your work in a larger format.

When someone starts clicking through the work you should disable the auto-advance.

are you a graffiti artist or a web... guy?

strange looks kind of like theres way too much focus on the site rather than the actual work.
i agree the arrows are kind of lost in the graffiti too

Right clicking on the stage is making random areas turn black.

Well I get what he was trying to do.. Create an ambient environment to view his work in. But is the ambient environment helpful to his work, or is it something that goes past grunge? I think the first showcase could use some work. And lastly is the ambient environment technically alive enough to be worthy of showcasing? the comments were clearly that it was flat. I think it's a great idea to introduce something original whether it be a piece of your personality or your perspective in the way you see the world that is different or unique. That is what clients or your target audience is looking for. They want to be woo'd and awe'd so take the tough criticism for a grain of salt but they did hit on a few key points to take away and improve the user interface and user experience of your portfolio. And I'd like to just add that your viewing area for your work, felt small. Maybe increase it atleast enough to be viewed at 800 pixels wide. Also if you're going for ambient and you use flash, you'll cut out alot of iphone users not that it matters all that much. But its something to keep in mind, you might want a secondary portfolio site like a portfolio hosting site ( you know a few options ) that you can send iphone users traffic too. Their is a script for that somewhere online to redirect users.

^^^Couldn't have said it better Iggy,
I'm simplifying the environment and increasing the viewing area of the work. And truthfully 90% of the comments above are great points.
