I'm looking for a solution to create a timelapse setup using a digital camera and my mac. Seems like there must be some program to install and run to easily build this setup.
I'm having little luck finding info – anyone have insights?

if you look around you might find controller software for your particular camera, if you want the computer to control taking the pics. if you've got a webcam, i've used evocam to record the movies, and it worked great.

Thanks. I've also managed to bump into this particular app as well:

it'll most likely be included in your camera's original software bundle, if you have a decent DSLR.

Beware that doing timelapse with most DSLRs is going to run up your shutter count. You can do it with a fair number of point and shoots (i.e. Canon's G line).
