I am trying to use TimeMachine but just dosen't work, keeps "preparing..." forever (I am talking about weeks). It works fine in my Intel Xeon with snowLeopard, but in my Dual G5 with Server 10.5 Leopard I am about to quit. So, does anybody knows of a good alternative automatic backup system? Apreciate the help folks, I want to go back to y designs I sick of computers...
thanks & cheers

time machine is really for desktop clients. rsync is a real server backup tool, but you'll probably need an experienced admin to set it up, command line only

is there a third party service for server backups like there is for user desktops? (e.g.- carbonite)

I want to use TimeMachine in my server most like a desktop client. I have a shared folder where we have all our client works and I want to backup the folder in another harddisk, automatically...thats all!

Try out Superduper. http://www.shirt-pocket.com/Supeā¦
It's pretty easy to setup with scheduling, different backup options for folders and complete drives.
