Site + portfolio. I'm looking for an internship and I need some feedback. What should I cut? I know it isn't the best work but I am still learning... would prefer learning more on site which is why I'm sending out my resume + portfolio.

in one breath and sentance i would like to say that you have a finely stripped down and elegantly boring if not monotonous wordpress blog that fails to deliver images in a manner that.... oh wait i took a breath... that's all static? it doesn't display well and everything i said earlier plus now the fact updates are done by hand? wtf? what year do you live in?
- that said the pieces are nice and could use a better navigation, presentation framingversion3
- It is dynamic, well sort of. I use a python script to generate the page. The backend is dynamic, only the page is generated once. I think I should probably use something like indexhibit. I thought having it on one page would be simpler.ech0
- whew! ;)version3
- I think i should just use indexhibit. I appreciate the comments.ech0
- dude! the poor guy was just looking for advice on content. not his site.mydo
- he also said he was looking for an internshipversion3
- Yeah. I was looking for things that might tick off employers. He makes a good point. Thanks.ech0

there is absolutely no need for the filed under button if it only takes you back to the top... unless something isn't working. clicking that should filter to a page of all print shouldn't it?

i think you've got a nice start here especially while looking for an internship. I'd rather see work first glance rather than a little life story, but that may be just me. good luck!
- Thanks. I think you make a good point. I might go with indexhibit to remedy the onepage route.ech0

i think you need to take a vacation,
come back and throw it all away
and start again.

I think there's some good stuff in there.
As an employer i'd like to see more commercial application of your designs. And more proof you can analyze a brief. This portfolio says you really like illustrator.- Yeah. I tend to more non-commercial stuff when I'm not working. This is why I want an internship.ech0

you can't see everything in one glance - which a row of thumbnails would help you to do, eg:
in 2-3 seconds you can see all of their portfolio without scrolling/clicking. you get an instant impression of their work, type of work, quality etc. and if it's something you're interested in you can easily go into further details on specific projects - of your choice, no forced order via a big scrolling blog layout.
however this is your 'first impression':
you can't even see 1 piece of work in full!
it's worth reading up on the psychology of first impressions:
http://www.google.com/search?cli…I don't want to be too harsh but that's an awful first impression and doesn't tell me much about you at all except that you didn't think about first impressions and thusly don't care too much.
clearly you do care as it looks like you've put your soul into your work.
with your site the first piece of work sets the impression, after that my 'impression' is pushed into an argument trying to decide what it is you do with each subsequent image i'm forced to see. I can't simply choose specific projects to view in detail. I have to just continuously scroll down. in a word - it's a pain in the ass.
so go for a good overview of all your work.
it's like a trailer for a movie. gets people interested. tells them if it's an action film/ chick flick... etc... no one would randomly go to see movies without having seen anything(poster/trailer) or read a summary etc. but that's what you are forcing people to do with your site layout.
you could have an overview at the top of the site, with all the work as you have it now below if you're happy with the big scrolling concept.
or you don't like that idea, at least make sure the first piece of work isn't cropped out of view on a browser.
- just realised rgb6 have more work now and you have to scroll. but the point remains...felizfeliz
- Thanks! You make some excellent points. I was thinking of doing thumbnails but kind of rushed it. I'm gonna work on that.ech0

So I figured it was best to move things over to indexhibit. I think this is less painful, and easier to naviate. I could change up the styling a little bit but this is much easier to navigate, no? http://nuketheory.com/portfolio/…

It looked way nicer before... plus you changed the style slightly and made it look worse. Why the bigger type and the uneven margin? Making things look 'anti-design' is fine, but you have to do something to try and hint that its purposeful otherwise its just going to be bad design.
Plus, you have your work arranged by date...but its arranged by category underneath that, not date. That doesn't really make any sense, you need to pick one. It also looks really bad with that only little amount of content plugged in. It would look a lot nicer if you put every project with its own link, not by category like that so it looks like you have more to show.
- Thanks. Yeah, I was customizing it last night but went to sleep. It was like 2am.ech0

.. start over.

Have more work as soon as someone visits your URL. I just see a scattering of text and a logo above the fold.

bleed the images to fill the thumbs, that will look much cleaner.
