- faxion0
Lets get Christmassy
;D
- Stugoo0
sort of knew that was coming.....
- JerseyRaindog0
They did it. Now kindly fuck off Cowell.
- McLovin0
Yep, it was always on the cards... They couldn't exactly do what they told them could they?

This is good and fun and nice diversion, but isn't money still going to end up going to a similar big-label? No matter whether the people decide to buy on impulse, or the people follow orders from Cowell - the only people who really benefit from this are itunes / online record merchants ... I'd imagine the cut that ratm get (and give to Shelter) is going to be pretty slim. The whole thing depresses me a bit .. like that red campaign by bono - spending to save the world is a con.
bah hambug merry fucking xmas :)
- Terminal270
Cant believe they wanted to appear cool and have RATM on the show... but had to ask them not to swear at the end.
Did she really think they weren't going to do it? Idiot ....
- eieio0
bahaha, long live Rage ...they are great spokesmen for some issues but I agree it still seems fishy.

I really hope this works, I don't noramally take note of internet campaigns but the moment that cunt Simon Cowell called it a 'cynical' move I downloaded it three times on different online shops (iTunes, Amazon and HMV).
where the fuck does that wanker get off calling anyone else in the music industry cynical?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/h…
He went on record saying he has done a good thing by launching his bland X Factor singles every year because before this it was things like The Millenium Prayer and Mr Blobby.
He released Mr Blobby. The cunt.
- what do you care if people buy shit music? Other people still make good music, so why are you worked up about it?flashbender
- McLovin0
Everyone downloaded it yet? Tom Morello donating all cash from the xmas sales to Shelter.
- Projectile0
haha i love the way they're so jovial and nonchalant about it even though they know they're in deep shit. they'll lose their jobs even though the station'll make loads from the publicity, just so the station can be seen to have done something about it
- rascuache0
Projectile, are you familiar with the Big British Castle, the two recent "controversies"?
They won't be anything except a shitstorm of complaints.
Piss funny that they promised not to swear, and did it anyway!
- BaskerviIle0
After hearing them in that clip I decided to buy the single, I thought why not and it helps raise money for Shelter who I already support.
I just want to see an internet campaign actually achieve something for once- You'd be better advised to just give all the money to Shelter you dozy prickraskolnikov
- scroogegjd
- what? I already support Shelter, I run for them every year to raise money, this is an extra. what do you do for them?BaskerviIle
- I don't do anything for them. I give money directly to the homeless so they can buy smack.raskolnikov
- pizzafire0
apparently, they video recorded the radio performance also. good stuff. 1992 seems like a few lifetimes ago now ;)
- raskolnikov0
You'll probably find this campaign was staged by Sony BMG.
A better protest would be to buy nothing at all and just give the money to charity.
- Who the fuck buys Christmas singles anyway? Are you all wedding DJs?raskolnikov
- scroogegjd
- and its about context mate, the charity issue is an aside, this about musicgjd
- oh riiight mate, riight gotcha maan, it's about music innit. I can't help but think the irony is lost on youraskolnikov
- what better way to protest than making an anonymous donation to charity???McLovin
- gjd0
lol @ the end
- McLovin0
The charity thing is a bonus, the mission is what matters.
