AT&T network is actually better against Verizon but its the iPhone and its use of inferior technology that actually makes it worst.

anyone here ever have to debug upstream T1 connections?
There's often 2 or 3 service providers involved.... and they all point to the others and shrug their shoulders... seems to be what they teach in basic industry training for everyone in the telecom biz....
Years ago, we had Cable & Wireless blaming MCI and MCI blaming Cable and Wireless... we started calling them Cable and Worthless and Massively Confused Idiots...

Its the iPhones fault for having the first UI that made the data connection worth using... suddenly the network can't handle actually being used.

the att/iphone problem is the same as the LA water pipes. as they strengthen one area, another weakness becomes more glaringly obvious.

Roger Entner, senior vice president for telecommunications research at Nielsen, said the iPhone’s “air interface,” the electronics in the phone that connect it to the cell towers, had shortcomings that “affect both voice and data.”

The difference is that AT&T never blamed Apple in fear of losing iPhone.
Its the Apple's technology of how it connects to cell towers that is causing the problem. If it was on Verizon, it would be worst.
Data jam comes from taking up too much bandwidth with inferior tech. With T-Mobile, it is not an issue, as they didnt have 4000% boost in usage.
- it's at&t. no one is having these problems in other countries.johndiggity

If so many twats would stop twittering their lunch menu, there wouldn't be so much jam up.

AT&T has always been abysmal... my experience. Had them for 2 years. I can't remember the last time I dropped a call with Verizon.

considering the fact that verizon was originally approached by apple and turned them down, verizon must be superior because they had the clairvoyance that the iPhone would cripple service for their customers.
not only is it idiotic to become an early adopter of an Apple product as a patron, but it is possibly more idiotic to become a provider for an Apple product during it's early phases.
ergo, AT&T sucks.

i do not have an iphone, and have nothing but problems with at&t's network. it is not speed that is the problem, it is coverage. I constantly do not get reception in many places where others (with verizon and t-mobile) have no problems.

the only complaints i've heard regarding verizon is from the pay per minute customers. this is mainly in regards to the intentionally awful voicemail system, where it'll take 2 minutes to check a 30 second long message and save it.
since i have unlimited minutes with verizon, my only complaint is their logo.
