Their FTP access sucks balls.
I have to constantly try and re-try to upload files which 90% of the time just times out and deletes the file on the server. And when I try to contact them about it 'we are having no issues with this please try a different FTP client'
ARGG!Complete and utter nightmare.
</ rant>I know that there numerous reasons... Host in the USA, me in the UK. etc, But I have never had this issue with any other host.
Infuriating and destructive to the build... I end up getting annoyed and closing down the build for the day. Having to batch all the files locally then do mass testing.

i hope it's not as bad as hostgator's registry rocket.
I bought a domain name and just can't get it to work with my hosting reseller account. Please note that I have another 12 domains and websites setup. So I do know how to do it.
It just doesn't work and I can't be bothered to get in touch with them.
Specially since it is practically impossible to get access to some human help.- with hostgator? their live chat is 24/7 and usually pretty helpful.rosem

I think it's a little funny people are so obsessed with paying 5, 6 or 7 bucks for hosting, when you probably pay over $50 for your phone service. These low-end companies lure people in with promises of huge bandwidth and storage space, knowing that no one in a million years is going to come close to using that capacity.
- acescence0
There are no set limits on the disk space or data transfer (bandwidth) that we provide in plans marked "unlimited". We want you to have the resources you need to build a great online presence.
Still, we do need to be sure that we're providing all of our customers with optimum service. As such, we do require all customers to be fully compliant with our Terms of Service and utilize disk space and bandwidth related to the normal operation of a personal or small business website.
While it is rare, we may need to put constraints on accounts that are adversely affecting other customers or otherwise utilizing or abusing resources beyond what would be expected of a personal or small business website.

when people say godaddy is "good" with domains do they mean just the lowest price or is there some other area that could be in consideration? i was thinking to shop around and find the best price, is there something else i need to watch for?
and speaking of shopping around, is it just me or is it slightly difficult to directly compare godaddy prices to begin with because they want everything to be a "package" and there's a bunch of fine print.
say i wanna register 5 random domains, w/ private registration. who should i go with? i heard 1and1 is good but it's not a good deal unless you buy hosting. don't need hosting.
- 3stripe0
any shared hosting is going to be unreliable, you have to pay the extra £££ for a dedicated or dedicated-virtual setup to get a really stable service...
