so my upstairs neighbors got a divorce and now she's stayin in the place and not movin out and not payin rent... is it true that in ny you can't evict during the winter time ? thats what he told me the other week

It takes about 2 months to for a company to realize that you stopped paying rent for real. Another month for the company to go back and forth to organize some kind of payment. Then about 2 months for the court work to go through. So yes, you get about 5 free months of living.
