My Flash CS4 is crashing when I make a .swf from a particular .fla. Any insight into how to troubleshoot this problem?

copy paste everything into a new fla.
i've had to do this a lot.

So, do I just select all the frames in all layers and paste those into a new, fresh, .fla? Is there anything else I need to do?
*yes, I did just ask that basic and stupid of a question*

thats all!
when you copy the frames it will bring the library elements with it.
if that doesn't work copy and paste half the layers to a new fla. test. half again, until you find the layer or clip that's causing the crash.

Thanks so much! mydo you're a big help. Take a wee squeeze!
One more thing: what are some things to look for in a layer or clip that might be causing the crash?

what caused my crashes seemed to be items I'd dragged and dropped more than a few times and/or imported from other adobe apps.... seems that being experimental and indecisive causes crashes, so I started a 2 stage process: experiment, figure out what you want, THEN rebuild clean from scratch, don't try to keep tweeking the test version into a live project.... and I kept my actionscript in text files too....

Wow. So you do no actionscript in the timeline at all? Not even a wee bit here or there?
