moving abroad checklist

im thinking of making the move from america to hong kong for agency work i have some associates there as well as a close friend..wanted to see if there was anyone who could seriously advise me on a checklist of what would be needed for a successful transition
1.medical
2. work visas
3. taxes
4. etc...Im googling at the moment but wanted to hear from any1 in this community as far as their personal experiences...

I'm in the same boat right now. Moving to Germany soon...so far for me it's money (savings to pay rent/student loans/food, in case I can't find work right away), health insurance, a work/residence visa (or a plan to obtain them there).
Definitely check and see if your bank has an overseas affiliate that won't charge you fees if you don't want to open a new account right away.
Also, friends to help in case things go awry...

thx sal, im a bit nervous about all of it but im visiting this coming feb to make sure all is in order then ill prob land for good a few months after..jevad, if you are out there..any tips as far as the hk scene? Ive been twice already..i just meant as far as pay/taxes/easy to get a visa...i will have a place to stay
