Flash situation

I have most of everything working properly here. If you open any of the projects from the thumbnail buttons, they all play well.
But if you click Next or Previous buttons above the 300x250 images/movies you start to get this insane effect where the type vibrates as a reaction to the animation in the loaded SWFs.
Each feature that opens is created from the beginning by adding 36 Feature clips and toggling their visibility.
Has anyone come across a freaky situation like this and found out what caused it?

i see no vibration. do you mean the quality level is toggling? i do see everything disappear if i click next after clicking previous though.

Ok, forget the disappearing issue for the moment. If you click any of the thumbnails and keep clicking next and then clicking the play buttons, you will start to see a jumbling effect on the type and even the next and previous buttons. It even seems to respond to the level of activity in the animation.

looks ok here.

seems like a weird compositing bug, it's redrawing areas that are masked off and shouldn't need to be redrawn? but it only happens when you do the prev/next thing. are they all positioned on top of each other and are just shown/hidden? maybe try positioning them off stage when they're not visible? i don't know, grasping at straws.

When using the next/prev btns, here are only two visible at a time, and when the old one slides off stage its visibility is set to false, so most of the time, there is only one visible. I have a feeling it may be a result of memory hogging because the Activity Monitor (Mac OS) shows higher numbers when I use next and prev. I think I tried removeChild before, but that method seems to be so unreliable.

I noticed that even though the buttons moved too, it was just the text that moved. I tried using .cacheAsBitmap for all the text fields that moved and the buttons. They all stay still now except for the projectType_txt field (second one on the left). Still looking into that one. I'll try a different font. Maybe the font is corrupt. It was a freebie named Titillium. Yes, Titillium.
- Recreated the last text field and that's fine now too. By Golly, this was rather queer.CyBrain

Try changing the antiAliasType for the textfield(s)?
- Tried that. Nothing made a difference until I used cacheAsBitmap.CyBrain

well, you've managed to make it do the jiggle on every play now rather than just when i use the next/prev buttons.
and i think you get briefly higher cpu when you hit next/prev because you've got the video playing and you're animating it out and a new one in at the same time.

How does it look when you make the time of the transitions really long?

the movieclip holding the text... try and cache it as a bitmap...
myTextMC . cacheAsBitmap = true;
This will force it to be a graphic that gets redrawn as apposed to a textfield being redrawn based on the font
- i didn't 'read the thread - :)
try putting the textfield ina movieclip then cache that new movieclipPonyBoy
