I know with firewire, there is a way to get one laptop plugged into another and treat one as an external firewire hard drive.
However, if the second computer only has USB and no firewire, is there another way to do this? I have a MacBook Pro and a MacBook and the latter's screen is not working.

Never done it with USB but you can always connect them via Ethernet and use it as a network drive.
