people text to avoid personal communication. It is actually quiet sad. I do text but rarely.

i hate texts, used to love them.
now i get a text, open a reply and put my phone down and forget about it, 2-3 hours later i pick it up and see i have started a text, then put it back down.My old flatmate completely fell out with me because of it because she is a GIRL.
Apparently to the ladies texting is like a full conversation not a random packet of information that has key points or a good lol or a random insight into what someone is doing.
now the phone comes out on the train to read the news.
