Hey crew - anyone happen to have any examples of website flowcharts? I am gathering a few examples before I build one myself...

there's a plugin for firefox called pencil .. I thought it was too simple - but checked it out recently ... it's great (you can add in shape libraries.. very good for prototyping)

I worked on a project once where the flowchart was god, after endless meetings hammering it out, then we got to the "all you have to do is execute our perfect ideas, all choices have been made and figured out" and, uh, it sucked... why? Flowcharts don't work when you have a menu that allows you to get from one place to almost anywhere else in your website, skipping the in-between "decision" tree pages.... or you can fully enforce the flowchart and have TONS of menu-only pages with no content...kind of like an old DOS application or point-of-purchase green screen terminal, both of which the client had done before...

Don't know if this could help but you can use http://www.iplotz.com
It will let you build your site map and place faux elements on each individual page to allow the client to see how their entire site will be laid out. I have a friend that's used it with a couple of clients, they seemed to like it.

Just draw it with paper, or get a big ass whiteboard. I was attempting a digital flowchart for a project I just started, but scrapped the idea. I thought it would make me more organized, but I just ended up listing what I need on paper, doing a rough sketch and got right to work setting up a draft in photoshop for the graphics and laying out the html template.
Unless the site is massive, I don't know that a flow chart is necessary. Especially the design end. I can see where it could help on larger programming projects. Maybe just an outline of what needs done? That's what I ended up doing.
