How do I go about this:
I need to make a 'ftp' website page, a client has a username & password, upon entering those details they see a page where they can download files or upload files.
I'm a bit clueless about how to go about it. Is it a bit complicated? or is there any php(i'm guess php would do the job) scripts out there that do this?
what about security issues?

separate it all out in your head
1. add script that will upload to a directory
2. add script that will display all file names in a directory
3. add script for password protection

i have more coming but maybe just buy this http://filemanager.net
time/effort costs & all

what about this:
http://www.phpwebftp.com/basically a client that i'm making flash website for, would like a 'ftp' page for their clients to log in to and download project files and also upload project assets.
It's a bit out of my skill scope, as I only do flash. I was just wondering how to go about it - if it's simple or there's a free php script then maybe i'll do it, if not i'll tell my client we need to look for a developer who does know how to do it.

could be done in PHP

concrete5 also does all of this for free.

maybe just having the files on a FTP then using PHP to parse those directories and output them with the format you want (links for download and uplaod), something along those lines...

keep in mind with this type of system you are allowing clients to see other clients files and there is no real track of uploads/downloads. i say store it all in a database

well, i've set this up:
http://www.zubrag.com/scripts/pa…
so i got password protected page.
although is, it secure? i mean the passwords are kept in the actual php file. can't be secure.anyway, i'm guessing now i can use something like this:
http://www.tizag.com/phpT/fileup…
and that's it.just doesn't seem secure to me...think i'll pass on this stuff...
