This is not nothing, we are talking about the most basic tool in PS.
Thanks for the ideas guys, didn't think there would be any addition to this in the a.m.
- yeah but at least your text isn't jumping around and you can use all the fonts********

"stymied by a cretinously tiny, yet fucking annoying detail"
Should be the CS4 tagline"What in sweet shit have Adobe been doing all these years?"
Moving the development from America to outsourced India I'm toldBut thats nothing at least fonts work in Photoshop, try using Flash where arbitrary fonts (usually the only font your client wants to use) of your font collection won't show up and will glitch the fuck out if copied and pasted into a document.
Also Fireworks shipped with a bug where 60% of all text in a document would shift 10 pixels when you went back and edited it... luckily this was one of the only bugs that was fixed everything else will have to wait for CS5.
Oh and all Fireworks documents open full screen NO EXCEPTIONS! Have fun opening 20 10x10px icons and getting 20 fullscreen windows.
FUCK ADOBE, seriously.

OH. MY. GOD.
Is that it? That's the fucking reason there's that stupid, pointless apparent offset in the selection?
So I wait years to upgrade, to have a computer that finally has a bit of swish in photoshop - that can finally support a graphics card in a relevant application - and its fucking stymied by a cretinously tiny, yet fucking annoying detail as this?
What in sweet shit have Adobe been doing all these years?
How on Earth they still have the gall to charge hundreds of pounds for a piece of software that doesn't really seem to have evolved much in 8 years, I don't know.
Assholes.

Photoshop? Turn off OpenGL in preferences

I think it has to do with the Screen Mode (pressing F). Its happened to me when I have pressed F between having chosen to use the Marquee tool and using it.
- we all know you just read the link above and regurgitated to look like you know something.airey

If the select tool selects the wrong pixels, you've got troubles.

Anyone else noticed a strange offset for where the box select tool starts a dragged selection from with CS4? It's driving me crazy, and I have been using PS since 2.0, so I know it's not the correct / default behavior.
Can this be changed somewhere and I am missing it?
