*Sigh*
This is just outright embarassing and insulting to the real creative industry in the area.
To hell with these advertising juggernauts. It's painfully clear that they're still stuck on using meaningless stereotypes to sell us something.... and the Big3 relied on these bastards for years of service... wow.
Thoughts?

"if your looking for a place to make the most of your artistic talent" ????
I'm sorry are there any jobs to even back this campaign up, didn't BBDO just close aren't unemployment rates at their worst and you want more creatives to flood the market.
I think the main question is are any of these agencies who made these posters even hiring -- probably not.
and KID ROCK??? really? god dammit detroit.

gustavfive,
Why all the hate? Because as a Detroiter i'm supposed to accept these dead-horse stereotypes as 'solutions' to Detroit's epic problems? C'mon dude. Do any of these 'advertisements' do ANYTHING to address the real issues the City of Detroit is suffering through?
No amount of 'advertising' is going to solve city-wide political corruption, a native population that is as apathetic as it gets and aging corporate giants trying to maintain their status quos.
I could dive pretty deep into why all of these are unsuccessful 'advertisements' but I have neither the inclination or patience for that right now. Just understand that trying to sell someone on something that doesn't exist is never good marketing.

the 3rd is the strongest ad, even if they rip off the idea.

@d_rek
Do you really believe advertising (in general) will solve all that? Why put blame on the ad's, or the agencies who were asked to create them? If you're that pissed off about them shouldn't your hate be focused on Time Magazine? Dude, I know this city/state has huge problems- it's easy to cast the first stone... and sad that it's at something inviting change (even if it isn't executed to your creative taste).It's disappointing to see the negativity coming from the people around here. That alone, shows how much trouble we are really in.

look at no. 2 how badly the type is treated.
no. 4 has to looooooooooong paragraphs.by the way, who are they trying to target? how's the audience?
