I'm wondering what phones (wifi enabled) nowadays allow you to download mp3s (and save them) directly to the unit.
Is it common with most phones now? Obviously, not a question for iPhone users.

every smartphone including iphone has wifi enabled ftpserver apps etc

true. i'm thinking more simple though.
simple webpage with links to mp3s where the user can save to a folder on the phone and listen immediately after. no ftp, usernames and passwords ... just click a link and download.
i assume this is also possible with most smartphones now and not a problem?

right, i guess no answer is the same as a "yes"?
... and if it doesn't save to a folder it should be no problem streaming at least.

This is exactly what Verizon and AT&T don't want you to do, so they can charge you $$ to do this through their little private online music services.... you might find a way to do it anyway, but if this is for your website and a client, you may have alot of confused users...

that's what i'm afraid of and with so many different phones out there now, it's difficult to find concrete info on this.
