ello QBNers,
just thought some of you may like to see 'Ghoul Racers' my new Papervision / box2d Flash game in time for All Hallow's Eve. Kind of a Micro Machines / Mario Kary sort of thing, with I think some rather spiffy real time 3D for a Flash game.

Any and all feedback much appreciated,

imo, you need to tweak the gameplay - aye, it looks pretty, but it isn't actually all that fun to play - the control being far too hovercraft. Sorry :*(
Also, I don't know whether you're targeting office-players, but that scream at on load up is sure to have people instantly reaching for the volume/close window button.

I think its a great effort, looks good. Perhaps detritus is right about the gameplay, so maybe tweak that up a little...turbo slides a la mario cart?
- ChrisError0
Yeah you're probably all right about the handling, will be tweaking the handling for the next game using the engine (am thinking of doing a proper Micro Machines V3 Clone with it next)
thanks for the feedback :)

loved this! haha i got all dizzy though. to much rotation. maybe ease the rotation so its not 100% with the direction/movement of the car. more loose

i'm really offended by all of this.
tips = filthy

What detritus said about the controls, plus, the camera position isn't really good and doesn't give you any idea of what is going on/not much time to react to turns/obstacles a fact that coupled with the controls doesn't help the playability of the game.
But has a lot of potential tho, keep going!

The control is way too loose to get those 90 degree corners. It would be fine if the track was rounded, but it isn't.
Love the character design though.
I'd darken the lighting and use more brown/orange to enhance the spook. I played the first swamp track and it was more like a lawn party, not enough spookiness.

why box 2D?
just seems like really really basic physics
- ChrisError0
I know it seems like fairly simple physics, but any rigid body physics has a certain level of complexity, and why bother spending even a few days creating your own physics model when Box2D is there and is so very accurate and very fast?
