my phone packed in today, so Im looking into getting a new phone.
I'm reluctant to buy a windows phone, andriod phones sound good. but if worst comes to worst I'm getting an iPhone. I prefer a tactile keyboard.
anyone recommend a good make/model?

+1 to zaqs comment.
im a pcuser anddefinitely not an apple fanboy but the iphone is great
so many apps,games etc
i dont really play console/computer games but have found myself buying games for the phone to play when bored or waiting for trains etc.the apps are endless, and helpfull too.
I downloaded a decibel meter which I used the results from as evidence to complain to local council about the noise level of works going on outside my house.

Even ignoring all the Apps the iPhone is the only device where from case to ui it has been made by the same people with the same vision and it fucking shows every step of the way.
From a design point of view its beautifully executed and conceived with real care and attention, nothing even comes close.

In my opinion the iphone is common and underdelivers as a basic phone.

I know I know...
i will probably end up with an iPhone.
Developed a site for it the other day and it just feels really nice...
I used to slate them but admittedly, after playing with friends/co-workers phones really want one.
The open development for Apps is a real winner.

The power button on my iPhone is stuck and without reason (I hadn't dropped it or bashed it or gotten it drunk) last week the mute button and volume buttons refused to work. Then a few days ago they worked again, again wihtout any reason.
Im on o2 over here and the reception is ok in places but signal drops a fair bit, I can ring people and not hear them (or anything else) frequently.
Safari is full of bugs that refuses to load pages frequently, as does maps, despite having a full signal on 3g or edge and it constantly needs to be turned off and on again to get it working.
Its quiet often not very responsive going from portrait to landscape and flicking through things can be fairly slow and frustrating.
That being said, my old nokia had a broken screen, teethmarks and often had the same dialling problems with vodaphone. So Perhaps theres some lead in my noggin that blocks signals eh?
