Here's an idea for a app/use of iphone.
You plug your iphone/ipod touch into your mac via usb and using some kind of app it becomes a mini external monitor / input device.
So for example:
• when using after effects it would display the ram preview.
• editing in final cut, use as external monitor.
• when using photoshop it could show all the tool icons thus becoming a mini input keyboard / tool shortcut method.
• In finder it can show all your dock apps, allowing quick access / app switching.
• when watching a dvd, option to view it thru the iphone - thus you can watch a dvd while still working on your mac.
• could be used a tools shortcut keypad for all adobe apps.
.... would be a useful idea no? sort of like this:
but a cheaper more versatile solution. of course some will say it's not ideal professional solution. but for those with a laptop and iphone/ipod touch, it be a nice way to make use of the addition screen space / touch input.

adobe should get an app made, works across the whole range of cs apps... they're missing another opportunity to make money from us...

even more people have had the same thought:

i wonder is someone has made a 'jog' wheel for final cut pro editing...
now someone just needs to make a dock/holder to hold my iphone steady on the desk, otherwise all these apps are pretty useless...
- there is a mouse app that might work for this, not a bad ideaMeeklo

None of these apps are as simple and good as it being an external monitor. Great idea.

I'd love to see the mouse icon on an iphone
