Has anyone worked on developing an iPhone-friendly section for a website?

you need to make a seperate stripped back site site ideally, 1 column optimised for 320px wide.... use the BBC for reference perhaps?

it might be an idea to have your images optimised for 240px wide so if viewing with a smaller screen handset ie: Nokia N95 (very popular device)

a plea from someone going blind: if you must optimise the site for an iphone, make the type nice and big. one of the big wins of the iphone for me is being able to zoom in on a website so i can read the text without needing my glasses. iphone optimised sites won't let me do this for some reason.

points duly noted! bigger is better!

yeah you should use em's for font sizes... don't use Pixels except for margins.... EMs will mean the fon'ts appear big in your browser, so you might want to set the body font size to 0.7em while your working and then 1.0em when you test it...
