Jan Erik Andersson is a very funny artist from Finland... not sure if his work fits your idea, but he's a great guy....

The Day Trading Yucca Plant was cool too....
Quote from http://www.mail-archive.com/fren…
A photo of the Daytrading Yucca plant. This plant is wired up
to a computer to trade on the Swedish stock market in
response to its electrical activity. If it makes a profit it
is rewarded with water and light, if it makes a loss it is
unwatered and sits in the dark. The plant has made an 18
percent profit in the last three months.

hey folks, thanks and keep them coming!
i've been digging around and have found some of the more well known stuff like renewable energy (hydropower/geothermal) and hydrogen fuel already. i guess i want to focus my search to the projects that the general public wouldn't know about. Could be people, companies, organizations, products, etc. i dont know... maybe something more radical or grass-roots? something with a creative/artistic lean (in architecture, industrial design, etc.)?
Im open to anything! thanks again!

Since anything goes...
"Rovina Oy collects almost half of the fish cleaning waste of the fish farms in Finland; all together about one million kilograms in a year. From this waste-raw material 300 000 litres of bio diesel is produced in a year." (couldnt find any more info in english or a link)- gah! this sounds perfect! now if only i could find more information...heathen
- You could try asking them directly if they have any material in Englishleft_right_out
- (they do different stuff, so mention what you're specifically interested in)left_right_out
- -> two e-mail addresses at the bottom of this page http://www.rovina.fi…left_right_out
- And it'd make a great song: Why, Rovina Oy you makin me so blue?left_right_out

going down another route... but might be an interesting angle. How these massive sustainability projects contradict the idea of environmentalism.
