Thanks for the replies everbody. Some of these have already been sketched onto the basic piece I'm working up. I'll post it up in due course, possibly to be greeted by a deafening wall of indifference, punctured by an occasional "that really sucks dude" comment.

You could point out the most of the really successful companies in the history of the web have been started and run by creative people (I'll include programmers in that for the sake of argument), rather than with traditional business experience.

Small companies can spend extra time on something while not really getting paid to do it.
Big companies can but won't do that because nobody will think of putting in the extra hours. Why should I if he is not going to?
