K, I thought there'd been a couple of threads covering this, but they all appear to deal with outer-eat headphones. I'm not at all after those.
Somehow I've lost my cheap but bassy Sonys and my expensive but tinny Shures, so need a single replacement for both.
I'd rather not spend more than £100 if necessary - any of you lot have any recommendations, please?
Again - I'm not after outer-ear ones :)

that's crazy, i just broke my cheap but bassy sonys and picked up expensive but tinny shures. first day using them.
i've read good things about sennheisers, but i think the best you can do is get a new pair of shures and boost the bass on your ipod?
- No iPod here :)
Shures are *great* for all the kinds of music I don't listen to that frequently.detritus

I like the look of the Nixon earphones. Although i can't vouch for their quality:

- Hmm..I'm a bit dubious about buying audio equipment from a fashion brand..detritus

- well, it's probably safe to say they just private labeled some other shitPoint5
- They seem to have some graph type thing displaying Megahurtz and Gigijules. I would fall for it.dropdown

I got the expensive bose ones, gave them away a month later - sounded very tinny to me, no bass.

I only wear earbuds at the gym. Can't remember what brand, but they're great until they or my ear fill with sweat and I can't hear the music at all.
But I could not wear earbuds daily. I think they're too dangerous for your hearing, to be that close to your ear drum. I think outer ear headphones are slightly safer, and definitely sound better.
- I imagine it ultimately depends on how loudly they're turned up - sound isolating in-ears can be played v. quietdetritus

- The IE6 looks like a contender.detritus
- Cool, thanks!detritus
- Those are by far better but I don't think I'd pay that price for mp3 listening and constant abuse :)Ruffian
