...how did you convince yourself or the boss to get em, very nice icon set, wish I could afford em.

I must say, too many of them are stolen designs, the printer and the battery icons are fucking ugly, there are many icons nobody would ever use (target? radio? company?) and the only claim to fame is to work well with Helvetica? Only about 30% of them actually work well with Helvetica. Your boss is right.

Yeah, not that impressed, better making your own as you need them.

I think overall it's a nice set although I agree that a few of them are unattractive (especially that printer). The lack of originality in some of them is often times intentional though - icons need to be immediately recognizable and there are standard conventions for many of the items. ;)

i think they are nice but haven't studied them in any great detail.
prefer to make my own though.

^^ Custom icon design is rather lucrative, so you're smart if you're able to get your clients to pay for them.

Not sure how anyone can have the opinion that this is even slightly worth buying. They're just so bog standard, simple, boring. I could probably recreate the whole set, even a little better, in one day.
