Popup Advice

I am working on an html site where the client can click a button to access a request a quote form. I would like to avoid popups at all costs but on the form there is a spot for putting in the product code, and I am iffy about the customer remembering the product code. If the client hits the back button the form gets reset.
I am also afraid that we may be losing customers to popup blockers. Although the popups open up fine at work.
Any advice? Should I stay popup or popup-less
Thanks

The thing is that the client has thousands of products and they want a simple generic quote form

jquery thickbox with HTML, iframe or AJAX

i love the jquery thickbox, but I worry about the end user clicking outside the box by accident and erasing all of the information they just typed in.

put the products or a simplified product list in the thickbox so the customer can reference it and then exit the thickbox and get back to their form...?
