Sorry I gotta ask this, but I've spent the past couple hours working on this form and PHP. I need to create this simple form:
and have all the entered info emailed to a specific email with a subject line. That's it!
But every tutorial googled help I've gotten doesn't work at all, I either get a new blank page with all my PHP code n it, or I enter the info and click submit and absolutely nothing happens. I really don't know what else to try...

where is your code
- spraycan0
what kind of form validation you want? php or Js .
- ceiling_cat0
If that's all you need, can't you just do it in html?

It's supposed to be a register form, so I can't have all the info pop open a new email so that the user sends it then... It needs to be done on the same page, input info, click submit, and info is sent to email.

You see all your PHP code, it isn't interpreted?
Check to see if your code looks like:
form action="file.php" method="post"
NOT
form action="file" method="post"if you list form action="file" then you'll have to do some Apache config and/or htaccess tweeking....

Thanks spray!!! Really appreciate it!
So, the html code for the form and its PHP are there? Can I plug this into my existing page?
- spraycan0
on line 34 dont forget to change this so the user input is emailed:
$to='your email adress here';on line 65:
<form action="formulaire.php" method="post" id="main_form">
this is if you want to change the name of the file you also must change the action parameter to its name (always keep the .php extension)

Sorry to bother again, but I'm still trying to learn this crap. I tried to test it and it didn't work, can I just copy/paste into a new DW page and test it by itself?
- spraycan0
i dont use DW (and to test it locally you need to param your php local installation) it's easier if you put it on the server where php is enable and dont forget to make the change on line 34
- OSFA0
1. im using DW
2. "(and to test it locally you need to param your php local installation)" whaaat??
3. "put it on the server where php is enable" - ??
sorry...
- vaxorcist0
just do it on the server...
If you have to do it locally, download and install XAMPP or MAMPP
you can't test a server-side response inside dreamweaver, you'll have to direct your web browser to
http://localhost/mysite/page.php…
or whatever... so rather than go through craziness, I suggest you do it on the server...

sorry for being a pain in the arse guys, but I have no idea how to do this shit. I've spent more than 4 hours trying to copy/paste and guess how to make it work, but nothing! Wish I could just give up...I posted the PHP page on my hosting like any other web page, and when I test it, I get half of the page full of code and the bottom half with a form that doesn't work.
Spray, I know your form works, it's just me...

hey, I am super slow at that stuff too, but kirupa.com has some forms that are super easy to understand. One of these 2 will help for sure...
- sleepyfatso0
yeah yo. if you'd like, email me your pages and I will test em/make em work (if I can). I won't be able to do it until tomorrow Canada time though if that works for you. I HATE having php shit not work, so I would be happy to help you out.

One more question, if I'm using this kitupa form:
http://www.kirupa.com/web/php_co…
When I hit submit, it takes me to a new page and syas 'thank you...' how can I get rid of this and have the user stay on the same page, but clear out the data?
OR, if I want to create a themed 'thank you for submitting page, can I place the thanks.html page in the
'echo"Data has been submitted to $to!";

Clearly what you need is >a<hbarf>crunk< inserted into the JAZX corridor of your PCP. Don't forget to deep-link the PAMPER of your TP in the LBC, too. Then all you have to do is propagate your gillywog across the smorgasboard, and don't forget to wash your hands.
You're welcome.
