and I realized I havent decided which style should I go for, the big scrolling selected works type of thing? Or something with a sidebar menu, where you can pick up some of the works and display it on the right side of the screen?
This is what I have done so far:
www.fabriciolima.tv/demo
For me it would be a lot easier to manage and update things, but at the same time... I dont know.. it doesnt look very classy to me somehow? Can anyone give me some input or suggestions? I have mostly mograph works and illustrations.Have a nice day folks!
- Ravdyk0
have a nice day too!
- I liked your website mate :) the t-shirt changing gave me seizures, but its cool :)fabricio2k

for an illustrator I like it, gets straight to the work, the important bit. It's a common layout and people know how to use it.
- fabricio2k0
Exactly right? But because its so common, do you think its a bad thing? Im so unsure, because im used to play a lot more with my layouts, like this www.designattack.com. But im just tired, and I think you have to get the attention to your work itself, not with crazy stuff around your logo, etc...

small crit and that is that i love the logo - just cant read what it says
also add abit of spacing between the screenshots and the info on topother than that, looks like its going down the right path :)
- agree couldn't read it - like it also thoShaney
- This is awesome, cheers mate. The logo it is a bit of a trick.. I plan to have a written version of the URL right underneath on my business cards, so i think that might save it :)fabricio2k
- its mostly because I love it so much the way it is now :) it took 6 weeks for me decide upon it!fabricio2k
- yeh it is lovely but just needs taking to next level for legibility then presto. maybe enlarge it as well to fit the grid.WeLoveNoise
- Thanks a mil mate, will try that tonight!fabricio2k
- Shaney0
if it's to promote your work, yes - keep the work prominent...not saying that you couldn't do it another way but the work is solid, good...all people want to see with minimal clicking
- fabricio2k0
"minimal clicking..." i like the sound of that. Its what bothers me when I go through someone's website for instance.. when you have to click more than 3x to see someone's work.
- ukit0
Keep in mind the viewer's attention span and that in any case where you hide the work, there's a high chance people won't bother to click through to look at all of it. So I think the layout you have right now works pretty well in that regard.

Please remove the Aqua/Blue decoration/bar on the top of the page and the hot pink ZigZag decoration/divider in each of the titles. They are a distraction to look at and server absolutely no function at all, carry on.
- Ok, the aqua bar i agree.. but the pink zigzag? Come on :) I love it! Not everything there needs to have a function per say, they might just be there to occupy a place in the grid, thats all :)fabricio2k
- I agree with utopian, the logo is nice but the pink thing just looks too unrefined and detracts from the rest.ukit
- fabricio2k0
I was trying to reply but my text got cut-off..
i was saying that I agree with the blue bar, but the pink zigzag? :) I like them. I know it might not have a direct use on the layout, but its mostly to get a spot in the grid and play a bit with the rest of the text :)
Does the pink zigzag bother anybody else?

Also, add about 15-20px of padding below the copy so that it does not touch your images.
- Yeah, i did that at home, but forgot to upload the last version. Thanks mate :)fabricio2k
- Also, be sure to auto center HTML in your browser. Justified left looks strange with your design.utopian
- WeLoveNoise0
maybe cos the logo doesnt align up to it the zigzag could be confusing but doesnt really bother me
also align the project info with the info at the top
the bar at the top is fine although may wana rethink the colour and maybe try make the aqua text the same so you are sticking to a minimal colour scheme- yeah, will try that too! thanks you sir!fabricio2k
- no probs mate. doing ur own site is prob the hardest job ur have imo :)WeLoveNoise
- yeah isnt it? we are our own toughest clients!fabricio2k

do it the "utopian" way. but maybe some space around each photo would be nice too. its a bit crammed. i would change the color also on "CG:" as is stands out way to much.

Now on a side note...
horizontal or vertical scrolling?
I have done this with vertical scrolling in mind, but I must confess.. im tempted lately in giving the horizontal a try..?
Any thoughts?
- Etype0
horizontal scrolling is annoying if you don't use nice javascript to progress through the images...
