There are some interesting tools starting to emerge for grid-based web design. Most of us use grids for visual design, but do you use a built in grid for coding your UI?

i don't like grid.
i like chaos. random type and blurry grainy images...
i mostly like grit.

It seems strange to me that if you work in web design you wouldn't understand how to code a web page.
OK, if you work in print maybe no but I'll refer you back to the title of the thread.

I think the more important question is: which one of those 33 links should I use to build my grids?"
Golden Grid?
GridFox?
Slammer?

Visually, that site isn't going to convince anyone new about the "magic" of "the grid". Is that irony?

Books like the Brockmann one are great in terms of the basic theory.
I'm asking more in terms of implementation in a web context.
Traditionally I think a lot of designers would design the visual look and feel and then just have the developer try to replicate that in kind of an ad hoc way with columns, margins etc. The framework approach lets you specify an underlying grid within the code itself.
