K, this is driving me nuts!!
why o why have adobe removed the ability to add fold marks out side of the artboard in illy CS3, and get them to show when saved as pdf?has anyone got an idea of how to make these show, am I missing something? It was so easy in CS! basically I've created a 2page spread in illy with fold marks but when I export to pdf (even if I set the blead to max 25mm) they are gone!!
Helppp please, before I put my flat screen through the window and start rocking back & forth.

i just make the artboard bigger to accommodate the marks...

LOL, yeah last resort... but then the export and generation of crop marks, registration & colour bars don't bloody work or will be in the wrong place. Jeez I can't understand why adobe have done this!

drop it into indesign and export the pdf with desired printer marks?

hmm, indesign seams to have the same inconsistancy with fold and trim marks

- yes but it's the fold marks he wants.hans_glib

yeah, no probs with trim & reg, it's the manual fold marks I've added, which are oustide the artboard & bleed area, I've increase the bleed as above to 25mm but they still don't export in the pdf, it looks as though acrobat or the illy pdf export function is seeing "registration" colour and removing
- hmm, sorry, I used to use magenta marks and increase the artboard, but finished art isn't my thing...neue75_bold

thanks guys, I've done it the old old way and extending the artboard, adding all the registration and trim and FOLD MARKS in the .ai,
I just don't beleive adobe could be so stupid!! they've probably hidden some setting somewhere to compensate, but damnd if I can find it
