Ok thanks all for the feedback on the ASP route but that is the decision made from above me, I am not a developer so can hardly argue the merits or lack of this decision however get in contact or please share the details with anyone you know is looking... as I mentioned before there will be a massive rebuild taking place soon and other options will be looked at...

ok, if the PHB's have decreed ASPX, then your challenge is to find a cool ASPX developer, make sure you DON'T GET an IT DEPT DRONE.... and NOT somebody who just took a few MS classes and memorized all sorts of stuff to get test certifications....
MCSE = Memorized Complete Syntax Encylopedia (ms says it means Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)
Seriously, it's terribly easy to make a codepile in visual studio that looks like it's almost done, but is really just a bunch of clicking and wizards and built-in stuff and trying to make a mashup of it all work.... that's why there are so many job postings for aspx gigs that 'just need somebody to help finish' when they may have to start over...
OK.... so the trick is to find somebody who's worked BOTH in C# as well as some other environment, that way they've proven they can think on their feet and develop their own architecture, and actually finish a project or two in both environments...
good luck, you can find a person, BUT NEVER THINK that developers are commodities, some are waaaaay better than others, make sure your boss knows this when it comes to payment discussions....
- he speaks the truth. I've been on occasion "the person who helps finish it". awful.bwahhhhShaney
