Looks great. The bottle counter is a nicely executed.

Yes; it actually reduces better than expected... as you will see if you reduce it yourselves... that ampersand is quite interesting...

sweet!
Ga a hair too loose?
does the & have to orange? does it have to be the same (unusual, hence distracting) shape in the tagline?
either way, well done.- I can't stop looking at the gap between the G & A now dude... Strange spacing...ideaist

New one looks more modern, I guess they are aiming for a younger audience (which isn't neccesairily a good thing if you're a liqour-store). And you get the fact that it's sells bottles from the new logo.. but still.. hmm.. not sure..

Don't really mind the G, good idea.
But the type is way too round for my taste, looks more oldfashioned than modern to me.
And yes, odd s p a c i n g and colouring (bit boring) too.

nice. but the stacked ampersands bother me.

I didn't notice the bottle counter, very clever.

why three logos?

reminds me of that logo with an egg on a spoon (in negative space 'e')

They shed all the previous brand equity. (this may have been the intention.) But, usually its preferable to bring a bit or two of the old brand with you. Would have been just as easy to make the 'G' red.
Agree with the above comment about it being too round. I would have matched the squareness of the bottle.

liked the old one better.... looked more stylish walking out of gall&gall with a nie expensive bottle of whatever in a bag with that classic logo on it than this new web2.0 drivel.. a shame.

on closer view.. the old one wasn't really so classic stylewise.. they should have capitalized on refining instead of redefining..
but i guess they just want to look cheaper... maybe it is a crisis decision.

what is also bothering me is the vertical space this one demands, as opposed the horizontal space before. i am fucking sure that most gall&gall's are located in shopping malls (with Albert Heijn etc.) where there's little space for large signs.. the previous one economically used the horiz. space on top of the frontstore..
- Coffeemaker0
also the name of the location below it makes it chaotic..

its a little too feminine for a product that is supposed to look beyond gender roles. Its kitchy and "clever" (look the bottle makes the counter of the G!!!) but it seems to devalue a store in the business of selling luxury items in a bad economy.
If Im going to spend $60 on a decent bottle of wine, I dont want to have the experience cheapened.

funny, when I was at Dietwee we/I won the pitch to redo the identity and in-store communications, but we ended up declining because they didn't have enough cash...
pity really, the old one was rubbish, but the new one is definitely not right at all...
- not really funny at all.. I guess I had just wondered what happened as that pitch was 3 years ago...neue75_bold

i just think they would also be better off with a slightly less radical change...
