pretty cool actualy. Its having your iTunes on TV.
Now I can listen to my entire iTunes library on the TV, wich is connected to my sound system! So I can listen to all my music on my big stereo :D You can do all the same as iTunes; rent or buy movies, rent or buy tv series, buy music.. download podcast audio or video. you can watch all your pictures, you can connect to Flickr (very cool) you can connect to Youtub too- you work for bestbuy? ;)brandelec

I've had an ATV for about a year and love it. I got it to watch all of the tv episodes I've downloaded over the years and to finally rip all of my DVD collection to digital files (will take several years I fear). I was surprised by the movie rental feature of the ATV and have used it on many occasions.
I got the 160gb thinking the 80gb wasn't enough and since it can't use an external drive (without hacking it), I feared the limitations. I was shocked at how well it streams SD and 720p video from my main computer tho.
Overall a great machine for the money. It definitely is capable of so much more, if only Apple would release it! I did jailbreak it once but it kinda screwed everything up so I went back to the normal OS and have loved it ever since.

Netflix with ROKU box all the way -- $8/month and there is so much superb content!

i will use it mostly for music, but also to rent movies and listening to my own movie rips from the computer to the TV.

I has. Did the boxee thing for a while until hulu pulled their content and the latest update from Apple undid the jailbreak. I like it, used Handbrake to turn all my DVDs into digital format so I can just pull em up right quick.

the worst UI design ever, I can't believe it's an apple product, it looks like it was designed by alienware
