what do you think of the design... and does it interest and attract you at all? please critique. this is my first web design ever.

is it for Apple?
The text to the right looks like it...
doesn't look very "indie" try looking at NME or some indie record covers to get art direction ideas, rather than the apple website.

yah. looks like the inspiration came from apple, try not to make it to look so obvious. also.. this bevel is killing, reckon you could loose that.
..and while you are at it, try to chop up some more logo variations because this one doesn't quite fit the whole indie thing (doesn't fit the whole minimal web either).
To make the story short, when I see this I don't think indie, I think of apple and not of .. whatever it is yer selling.

I totally copied Apple. And I agree, the logo and layout doesn't really convey "indie".
But I'm not a designer and this was the quickest and cheapest way I could make something look "good" without taking a bunch of time learning web design. I enjoy designing and am learning more everyday, but this is not why I got into it.
I just want someone to goto the site and not think it is totally shitty, be enticed to see if what I'm sellin is frickin awesome or crappy. I also want to easily communicate to them what the site is about in less than 10-15 seconds. So many times I goto a website and although the design is nice, I have no idea what they want to sell me. It's usually a vague idea. Eventually when I start making money I'll research good designers and have them revamp my site.
