If I use the Marquee to select an area of a photo,
and then press "apple-c" to copy the selected area: – how do I then get Photoshop to paste the clipboard into the exact same position as of the 'copyied' area.Because if I press "apple-v" it pastes it into the middle of the screen.
So I want the "apple-f" functionality of Illustrator, but in Photoshop. Anyone know of it??

Yeah, like Bask said, but actually if that's what you're doing you may as well take a shortcut and just hit apple J after making the selection to raise the selection to a new layer rather than copying and pasting it.
I thought there was a new product on the market when I read the title. I was going to offer to swap some Phososhop paste for a bag of Illustrator granules.
