  I wouldn't call that a "zoom effect". It's two movieclips, one large, one small, with some horribly basic mouse interaction.

  Add a mouse_move event listener to the thumbnail. Offset the larger movieclip's x/y by the mouseX/mouseY on the thumbnail.

  And please make it smoother than this site's horrible examples.

  do you mean simple as in, 'i don't know how to program flash but a client is paying me for this anyway so i need someone to do it for me or find me a free version on the internet'?
