Anyone here going to Outside Lands fest next month? (www.sfoutsidelands.com)
I'll be heading over to CA for the first time ever to check this fest out and visit some friends.
Aside from rocking out to OS Mutantes and Built to Spill, what else should I do in San Fran? Can anyone recommend a top-notch, authentic sushi joint?
I'll be staying right next to Golden Gate Park's panhandle.

hope they sort out the sound this year.. the city was freaked out about noise, so their solution was to cut all of the low end out of the system, which is just dumb. plus the system kept cutting out as they didn't have enough juice coming from their generators. such amateur mistakes for a huge production like that. they also only boost the volume for the headlining acts.
as for sushi- i wouldn't say "authentic", but tsunami on fulton is close to where you'll be and is pretty damn good.

there's a non-descriptive sushi boat in the western wing of the Japanese mall on geary str. wicked good.
And while your at it go check out the Tenderloin for some authentic Indian food, raunchy dive bars and an unusual assortment of mexican trannies, crackheads and drunk chicks.

i'm going near the fest ;-)
My band is playing at Poleng Lounge, it's the closest restaurant/bar/venue to the event.
