I have a couple of effects on my movie including the hue/saturation effect and the brightness/contrast effect. All is good, but now i'm trying to slow down the movie. I use the time warp effect which slows it down, but I lose the hue/saturation and brightness/contrast effect. Any ideas why?

I have gotten that too. try rendering out the time warped movie then re importing it and applying the effect to the rendered movie.
use the frame blending for smoother results =]

Make a pre-composition (from the layers dropdown) after time stretching. Then apply effects to new resulting composition.

Precomp your footage.

One other thing. A good habit to get into is placing your effects, particularly color correction effects, onto an Adjustment layer over your footage/clip, rather than directly onto that clip. It's easier to keep track of, and applies your cc effects to everything you've layered underneath.
