Maybe I'm missing some third party software but that thing is flat as can be. No perspective whatsoever.

It's a map with the country size adjusted by actual population
- lazerbass0
it doesn't put anything in perspective, it says nothing about density or quality of life etc
- ukit0
The biggest surprise for me is how tiny the populations of Russia and Canada are.
- CALLES0

- brandelec0

Population's up to 6.9 billion, last time I checked.
In the 32 years I've been alive, approximately 2.67 Billion people have been added. So, very roughly speaking, within my lifetime the population has nearly doubled.
Obviously this isn't sustainable - but what's the answer?
Something Very Frightening.

Yes everyone should stop having kids blah blah blah....bunch of imbeciles if you believe we are doomed due to overpopulation.

I wouldn't have thought Russia was so populated.

* The growth rate of the world's population appears to have peaked around 1970, when the annual rate of growth was 2.09 percent.
* By 1980, annual population growth was down to 1.73 percent, and by 1990 to 1.7 percent.
* By 1995, the annual increase had slowed even more to 1.5percent.
- omg, you just don't understand, do you?Nairn
- ok then please give me your doomsday scenario, I would love to hear it. ??designbot
- based on actual evidence...not your imagination.designbot
- Rich coming from an invoker of fantastical entities.
Nairn - Hint: It's got something to do with the nature of rates of growth. http://en.wikipedia.…Nairn
- But 1.5% of 6.7 billion (2009) is a lot more than 2.09% of 3.7 billion (1970).ETM

If the entire population of the world were put into the land area of Texas, each person would have an area equal to the floor space of a typical U.S. home and the population density of Texas would be about the same as Paris, France.
- that can't be trueversion3
- can it?version3
- that's why paris sucks********
- http://hunterkirk.li…BattleAxe
- that sounds impossible. but it's written here on the internet, so I'll accept it as true.Gucci
- Nairn0
that has to be one of the most stupidly ignorant, borderline fascist, statements I've ever heard. unless, of course, you anticipate keeping the bulk of the world's masses at heel in poverty (which as a good christian boy you don't), overpopulation represents the SINGLE biggest worry we have.
All of our other concerns are a direct product and are geometrically contributed-to in line with population growth.
What point a reduction in 1st world carbon emissions if Africa and Amazon strips her forests?
- ********0
i heard we are closing in to 7billion
- BattleAxe0
the more the merrier I always say
