Microsoft confirmed they plan on using the Word rendering engine to display HTML emails in Outlook 2010. Give them a piece of your mind:

I sometimes wonder why there's a filter option..

I saw that this morning. Ridiculous. I'm really surprised that M$ consistently makes decisions that screw the people building for their products.

to be fair if this kills HTML email then I'm all for it

I have been working on several email marketing projects at work, and it sucks to tell clients "make sure you use OUR forwarding functionality because we cannot guarantee that Outlook forwarded emails will look good."
At least it's out of our hands in a way, and not related to our product. But yeah, this is pretty stupid that they will not change this.

maybe you shouldn't use outlook if you find it lacking?
- Boy, talk about a retarded response.noRGB
- nevermind, I posted that before reading because I like making snarky comments
flashbender - As if I have the power to control what email reader my clients use.noRGB
- yeah, that never happens here noRGB...flashbender
- don't get your panties all bunched up son, it's ok. That's how things work around here
flashbender - SON! You schoolin' me now, pops.noRGB

I dont think I've ever used outlook. Pretty sure the first time i needed an e-mail client i accidentally downloaded Thunderbird and just went with that. But then again this is for personal use, im not sure if Outlook would be the standard in a work environment.

take solace in the fact that everyone's emails will be poorly displayed in outlook?

Microsoft consistently holds back progress on anything related to the Internet. It's really sad. It almost seems like they want to make our lives a living hell and are doing it just to be a troll.

They hold it back so they remain in control and remain relevant, as long as company intranets are written for shitty old versions of IE then they can keep selling them windows server which will keep them in the exchange ecosystem
- So what you're saying is I should beat down the programmers that make company Intranets around IE?itsmitch

that fixoutlook site is horrendous. I'm not sure which hurts my eyes more, that site or the way Outlook would render an email...
