I find joining the characters to be distracting, even though it's perfectly readable. What is the brand for?

Apologize for the double post...
Chocolate Brand.

yeah, first question: What is the brand for?
- benfal990
If i ask you "can you explain me the concept'' , what happend?
its nice typography tho. just want to shake you cage.
- it's a nice typeface but how it's "set" is not there yet. just to rattle your cage, ha!Brian_Piper

brown = chocolate is not a concept, is it??? If it is, hasn't it already been done about a thousand gazillion times.
I'd love to see a chocolate brand that never uses brown, except for product shots. (Cadbury almost does this)
- pooh = brown too, btwAmicus
- totally right, I should've posted it in black, (early stage)kojikabuto
- Actually Pooh is yellow, poo is brown.MrT

well. I'm working on more stuff, hand made illustrations and patterns, I agree on kerning and spacing, just trying to find out if joining those characters makes sense

is it just me or there is like a 1px difference between the join of the L and N
maybe it's just the export
- benfal990
i would try an object outside just typography.
like, i dont know, a chocolate waterdrop ... i dunno.- I will have more stuff, handdrawn stuff, and patterns
kojikabuto - nice, show us the stuffbenfal99

honestly, like this, it look like ''he just tried a couple fonts, choosed one and joint 2 letters to make it look more ''worked'' ''
- kojikabuto0
this is a very early stage like I said, the whole point is if joining the characters make sense
- Amicus0
If you are going to have patterns Koji try a very simple type treatment, but first work out a concept that everything can hang on.

i see that too elektro....
it doesnt say anything about what it is, could be a clothing brand for all i know
- benfal990
i think you should forget about joining characters. it add nothing and it has been made 453,345,323 time for logos. unless you have a concept that need it.
- kojikabuto0
cool guys I really appreciate the input, will definitely hit you back with more... (there is a concept foshizzle)
- Please, but only if you come back with your idea behind why you did what you did (not just asking if letters that touch each other makes sense).Brian_Piper

I think "re" in republic goes a little unnoticed when you connect i-b and n-l. I think you're trying to give the notion of pouring by that, but somehow my attention gets stuck on that part of the graphic. It first reads "rain public" or at least I did.

So, what does the company do again that's chocolate related?
I can see you doing something with the vertical flow of those connecting letters if they fade away like a stream of chocolate or something. It also bears mentioning that if chocolate is sinful or decadent, I don't feel that from the typeface you've chosen. Just my two cents.

Check out some 'Max Brenner, Chocolate by the Bald Man' for inspiration. The website sucks, but it's worth taking a trip down to a store to take a look.
If you can't get to a store, check this out. Chocolate should make you feel warm and fuzzy IMO.
